About mlettings

mlettings was established, by Mark Trenfield, in 1998 to provide a range of residential property letting services to landlords and tenants who were looking to rent property in the Swindon and North Wiltshire areas.

Over the past 12 years we have built a good reputation by being open, honest and straight forward and have grown to be one of the largest letting agents in Swindon with nearly 300 properties on full management from our offices in Cricklade.

We pride ourselves on our personal service, ongoing contact management and free, impartial, advice that we offer to all of our customers. We are run by experienced landlords who have real world experience in managing tenancies and sorting out the issues that tenants can bring.

We try to help and work with people in our local communities and have built partnerships with the Royal British Legion and SSAFA so that we can help ex-armed forces families find rental accommodation across Swindon and Wiltshire.

Our relationships with the local Councils (Swindon, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire) has meant that we have helped to house some of the most vulnerable people in our society and we continue to encourage our landlords to consider tenants claiming DSS benefits as – opposed to popular belief – not all DSS tenants are bad people.

For the Tenant - We provide a selection of properties to rent in, and around, Swindon and North Wiltshire. We accept the Deposit Guarantee Scheme (from Swindon Borough Council) and the Bond Scheme (from Wiltshire Council). We fully understand the Housing Benefit system and can assist you in the completion of your benefit forms.

For the Landlord – We focus on trying to maximize your rental income whilst, at the same time, minimizing your void periods. Our relationship with SSAFA and the local councils has enabled us to remove most of the risk from accepting DSS claiming tenants. Many of our landlords have had zero void periods for months (or even years) as benefit claiming tenants often stay much longer than working tenants.

For those landlords who prefer to only accept professional tenants – mlettings are happy to promote your property in local newspaper publications and Internet portals as well as providing a full tenant referencing service.

Mark Trenfield – Founder of mlettings

Mark has been a landlord for over 12 years and has a large portfolio of 2 & 3 bedroom rental properties across North Swindon. As well as being an experienced landlord, Mark also has a wealth of sales and marketing experience and is a serial, and enthusiastic, entrepreneur. Mark writes articles on residential letting for local newspaper publications and often appears on local radio.

Wendy Hardaker – Lettings Manager

Wendy joined us in June 2009 having previously worked in an administration role for Woolworth PLC at their distribution centre in Dorcan, Swindon. Wendy has been renting her own home through mlettings since 2005 and is responsible for vetting prospective tenants, conducting viewings and letting our properties.

Victoria Hilton - Administration Apprentice

I am doing a business and administration apprenticeship with mlettings, joining in September 2012. Previously studying the Renaissance period for History of Art A-Level lead me to an interest in architecture.

However the skills of Filippo Brunelleschi are nothing in comparision to the likes of the Swindon architects! My aim is to be a useful aid to all of the mlettings team.

Sarah Turner – Director of Lettings

Sarah joined us when we first opened our commercial premises in 2006, having previously worked for Chase Buchanan in Twickenham and has full responsibility for the day to day running of mlettings. Sarah’s in depth knowledge of the lettings business has enabled us to rapidly grow our client base. Sarah is also a landlord herself with a portfolio of residential properties in Cricklade.

Andy Jermain – Property Manager

Andy has been a landlord and property developer for over 2 years and has always had a keen interest in residential property. Andy's real world experience as a property investor, developer and experienced landlord enables him to inspect and manage our client's properties as if they were ALL his very own!
